How did you get into the industry?

My previous career was serving as the Head Chef at Aveda Corporation and the Aveda Spa. I hold a BA in Psychology and Studio Arts and have always been interested in being creative with food.


What inspires you?

The resiliency of nature. I love witnessing plants and trees and how they deal with all the challenges with our climate.


What is your hometown?

Woodbury, Minnesota


Favorite restaurant?

Rainbow Chinese


What do you like to do on the weekends?

Walk my dogs in the woods, forage and cook.


What is your favorite band or type of music?

I love a variety, but my day to day is Jazz.


What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Don't waste your energy comparing yourself to other people.


What book, movie read/seen recently you would recommend and why?

'Braiding Sweetgrass' by Robin Wall Wall Kimmerer ! I love how she write about how we are part of nature and have a 'reciprocal relationship' with nature. Deeply moving.


Are you a traveler or a homebody? Why?

I love being outside. Anywhere!
