Brooke Faudree

Food Stylist

How did you get into the industry?

I started in the art department as an art director's assistant on feature films and TV. Later I attended culinary school, opened a restaurant/bakery, and started a fine dining events company. I'm now working as a culinary producer and food stylist for video, print and social media.

What inspires you?

Beautiful environments; when I'm in a beautiful place I always feel inspired to create. Usually that's France, an art gallery or an old house.

What is your hometown?

Greenfield, Minnesota

Favorite restaurant?

Benoit Paris

What do you like to do on the weekends?

Neverending house projects on my 1890 Victorian home.

What is your favorite band or type of music?

Neo Soul, Bossa Nova, French Disco...

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Let life breathe. Life changes are so much easier to navigate if you let things be as they are for now without taking on tomorrow's worries or expectations. I need to remind myself that life is long and that I don't need to be on the made-up trajectory that I or society often imposes.

What book, movie read/seen recently you would recommend and why?

The Double Life of Véronique - it's a poignant and poetic story about two women who don't know each other but are somehow living a connected life. Hauntingly beautiful and an intriguing metaphysical exploration of human experience makes me want to keep revisiting this French/Polish film.

Are you a traveler or a homebody? Why?

Traveler all the way. I love discovering culture in cities and the countryside everywhere, especially around art and dining.
